Emirates Pilot Salary: How Much They Make Per Month Revealed
An Emirates pilot’s earnings depend on their position and experience. The airline currently advertises monthly cash pay ranging from AED 32,100 for First Officers to AED 48,000 for Direct Entry Captains, based on basic salary plus 85 flying hours. Housing, schooling support, and other benefits add to the overall package.
Understanding those two figures—cash earnings and total compensation—is essential when comparing what each role offers.
How much do Emirates pilots earn?
The following amounts appear on Emirates’ official recruitment pages:

These are advertised, rounded figures. Monthly amounts include flying pay, while the total package incorporates benefits and assumes an employee, a spouse and two eligible children.
The enhanced First Officer package has additional eligibility conditions, including specified aircraft experience and a higher English proficiency requirement.
What comes with the salary?
Accommodation represents a substantial part of the benefits. Emirates values the housing provided to Direct Entry Captains at approximately AED 290,000 annually, including utilities. For First Officers and Accelerated Command pilots, the advertised value is approximately AED 225,000. These figures represent accommodation benefits, not additional cash salary.
Pilots also receive medical and dental coverage for their families, together with life, accident and loss-of-license insurance.
For families with school-age children, Emirates advertises annual education support of:

AED 52,250 per child for primary education.
AED 79,750 per child for secondary education.
The allowance applies to up to three eligible children aged 4–19.
Leave, travel and retirement savings.
The advertised leave entitlement is 42 calendar days each year. Direct Entry Captains receive an annual leave ticket in Business Class, upgradeable to First. First Officers and Accelerated Command pilots receive Economy tickets, upgradeable to Business. Eligible dependants are included in the annual leave travel benefit.
After six months, pilots are automatically enrolled in the company’s provident fund. Emirates contributes 12% of basic monthly salary, while the employee contributes 5%.
Who can apply?
Emirates’ published headline requirements differ by recruitment route:
The role summaries also specify a valid ICAO Airline Transport Pilot License and an unrestricted Class 1 medical certificate. Aircraft experience and recent flying requirements apply, so reaching the minimum hours alone does not establish eligibility.
For anyone considering an application, the most useful comparison is between monthly cash earnings, eligible family benefits and the experience required for each route. Current vacancies and full selection criteria are available on the Emirates pilot careers website.
